A decade of building, condensed
Collabaro wasn't a lucky first attempt. It's the culmination of ten years of shipping enterprise software for companies that work in hard places.
Founded in Nottingham
Railston & Co was founded as a digital transformation consultancy — helping businesses find the right technology, backed by a management team with software development roots going back to the 1990s. That pedigree runs from corporate systems integration to pioneering eCommerce ventures, and the innovation habit never left: the team still mentors entrepreneurs and champions entrepreneurship through university programmes. The philosophy was set from day one — less workshops, whiteboards and theory; more tangible, working results.
IRIS: from advice to product
When clients asked us to build the platform we'd recommended, we did. IRIS solved post-job reporting — replacing laptops, notepads and cameras across a global technician fleet and cutting inspection reporting from two weeks to the same day.
Brother UK: workshop to software
An HR engagement and continuous professional development toolkit for Brother UK, taken from first workshop through to fully operational software. The award-winning BUK Toolkit supports Brother's Investors in People continuous journey — and it's still supported by us today.
PrintReady: setup without a site visit
An automated printer configuration platform for Brother UK, removing the need for a technician to configure machines on-site. Built in 2019–2020 — and still supported by us today.
AI research, published and applied
Four peer-reviewed vision-AI papers with Loughborough University — deep work on how machines read blade damage, and the foundation of our approach ever since.
Collabaro: the pivot to product
We pivoted our focus to concentrate on building on everything IRIS had proven, and launched Collabaro — a field operations platform focused on energy infrastructure. It carries the industry knowledge gained from a multitude of clients over a decade in the renewables sector, and it's the product the company is now built around.
One product, everywhere it matters
Collabaro is licensed to blade-service contractors and partners who operate in more than 40 countries, processing millions of field records a year — and we ship improvements every week.
